Fellowship Groups

Torrington United Methodist Church has many groups which it's members and friends can be a part of.  We hope you'll join us in fellowship!
United Methodist Women

The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive, fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church. The UMW holds two rummage sales a year and recruits help from willing workers, as pictured at left, doning special items from the fall 2013 sale.

United Methodist Men

The United Methodist Men meet the second Saturday of the month at 8 a.m. at Deacon's Restaurant for breakfast, fellowship, and devotion. The men also assist the United Methodist Women at their Friendship Brunch and other areas of the church.

United Methodist Youth

The Torrington United Methodist Youth Fellowship (UMYF) is open to any 6th-12th grader in the Torrington area. Our Youth Director, Christi Husted, has a passion for youth, and helping the youth get to know Jesus better. All youth are invited to this energetic group.

Children's Ministry

The Torrington United Methodist Church has a vibrant Children's Ministry. Our children participate in Sunday School, singing in church, and other fun and exciting ways to get our kids involved.

Music Ministry

There are many musical groups at TUMC. The choir, under the direction of Fred Kreiger, practices every Wednesday night at 7 p.m., and performs every Sunday morning. They sing hymns, spirituals, and other songs of praise. A bell choir, "The Wesley Ringers" practice on occasion, and performs several times a year. We are blessed to have area musicians perform for us during the summer, as well as throughout the year. A praise band is in the process of being formed.
